DR. HAFIZ MUHAMMAD SHABBIR USMANI
The Imam of Maidstone Mosque
Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Shabbir Usmani was born in the district of Faisalabad, in Pakistan. At a very early age, he began to learn the holy Qur’aan and at the age of fourteen he had memorized the whole Qur’aan. That task, he undertook at the same time when he was attending Secondary School. He passed the GCSE in Science Subjects and enrolled in an Islamic Education University [JAMIAH TALEEMUL-ISLAM] in Mamu Kanjan, District Faisalabad, Pakistan. There, he studied pure and extensive religious studies for eight years after which he obtained a degree in Islamic Law in 1997. Also in that same year, he completed his B.ED at the Allamah Iqbal Open University Islamabad, Pakistan.
Along with Pure and Extensive religious education at traditional Islamic University, Mr. Usmani carried on his education in Government colleges and Universities. He got his Masters degree in Islamic Studies from Islamiah University Bahawal Pur Pakistan, in 1996.
He came to England in 1997 to take up the position of Imam and he continued his quest for further education. To that end, he completed his doctorate through working on Sahih Al-Bukhaari. Since then, he has translated and written a number of books, along with the completion of a number of various Islamic books, he has also completed the English translation of Sheikh Al-Albaani’s Irwa al-ghaleel and the juristic order of the Ahadith of Silsilah Ahaadith al-Sahihah in Arabic.
Al-hamdu-lillah, he delivers Friday sermons regularly going through the Ahaadith of Saheeh Al-Bukhaari, in the Maidstone Mosque; and Hadith lectures four Days a week, from Monday to Thursday.
