Our Last Open day

The weekend’s Mosque Open Day at Maidstone Islamic Centre was a truly special and memorable occasion. From start to finish, the masjid was buzzing with visitors — families, children, and members of the wider community — all eager to learn more about Islam and experience the warm, welcoming atmosphere of our centre. Many guests stayed for hours, and several expressed a genuine interest in exploring our faith further.
We are deeply grateful to our event organiser, Saad Dastagir, whose dedication went above and beyond — including an all-nighter to make sure everything was ready on time. Despite some last-minute challenges (including deliveries ending up at the wrong address!), the entire team came together with remarkable teamwork and determination.
A heartfelt thank you to all our volunteers — including Faris, Doug Matthew, Manan, and many others. On the sisters side, we had Shiri, Fahima, Rumana and Suchi — who gave their time, energy, and smiles to make the day so welcoming and smooth-running.
Your combined efforts ensured that every visitor left with a positive and lasting impression of our masjid.
Seeing the masjid packed throughout the day, filled with laughter, conversation, and curiosity, was a joy for us all. This was a day of connection, understanding, and unity — and one we will all remember
